I am currently working on a substance that takes most of the leg work out of getting a high quality character skin for human like characters. It features a mask painting and anchor system that will automatically generate, as an example, red irritation surrounding a painted bruise, automatic basic normalization of the roughness of the skin overall, etc. so as to minimize the technical tweaking and effort needed for the artist using it.

All scars, wounds, scabs, freckles, etc will auto adjust along with the easy to change overall skin pigmentation gradient, and the material also supports entirely inhuman skin pigmentation. The las bit is further enhanced by the ability for the user to pick replacement colors for the lipids (yellows), deep tissue (blues) and reds (blood) within the skin itself.
